The King’s Chorale is a mixed-voice choir of approximately 50 singers founded in 1987 to perform sacred music to the glory of God. It is based in Belfast and gives two major concerts every year at Christmas and Easter when the offering received at these events is given to charity, usually to organizations which have a particular medical and missionary outreach, both at home and overseas.
The choir provides concerts during the year at the invitation of churches throughout Northern Ireland with the donations going to whatever project or cause that is being promoted by that congregation.
Our repertoire is a blend of traditional anthems, music by classical masters and arrangements in the gospel style providing an uplifting and inspirational programme of praise to honour the “King of Kings”.
Mark Spratt is the present conductor of the King’s Chorale and we are indebted to him for bringing his skills and enthusiasm to the choir. Our practices are thoroughly enjoyable, being a mixture of hard work and fun.
The choir would welcome new members in all sections especially if you have sung in a church choir and enjoy 4 part choral work. We practice once a fortnight in Albertbridge Congregational where the above concert will be held. Do come and sit in a couple of practices to see if you like and enjoy our work.
